The Effingham Public Library is pleased to welcome local artist, Crosby Handfland.
Crosby is from Effingham, Illinois.
She has been drawing since she was five years old, but started getting into acrylic painting during her years at Lakeland College. Crosby was in her early twenties, at the time.
One of the things she likes the most is nature. From the animals, plants, and the weather. Crosby enjoys capturing nature on her canvases. But, she is also a fan of using shapes and colors to create patterns.
“I believe art is a form of expression. When I look at an art piece, I get a brief glimpse at what the artist is interested in. When words aren’t enough to describe the artist’s actual feelings, our society could benefit a better understanding of the individual by looking at their creations. No two people are alike, and neither is their art.”
Crosby’s art will be displayed from August 1st to September 27th.
